"80% of plastic pollution happens in Southeast Asia". But why do Singapore and Denmark matter?

The Green Lead recently had the pleasure of hosting Jacob Duer, President & CEO of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste. The Alliance to End Plastic Waste is a non-profit organisation that brings together governments, communities and companies throughout the plastics value chain to end plastic waste in the environment. The organisation unites a diverse network of resources and expertise, from technical leaders, engineers, scientists and practitioners to create and scale innovative solutions around the world.

When fully up and running, some of the organisation’s projects will divert more than 300.000 tonnes of plastic waste from the environment. But is it realistic to truly put an end to the problem?

In this episode, Jacob Duer and Magnus Mernild, Head of Communications & Public Diplomacy, Royal Danish Embassy in Singapore, talk about the role of Singapore and Denmark in putting an end to plastic waste and why efforts in Southeast Asia are crucial in achieving the ambitious target.

The Green Lead aims at sharing experiences, best practices, and linking up partners from Southeast Asia and Denmark to drive green transition through accelerated regional collaboration opportunities.
