Copenhagen will be carbon neutral in 2025, Denmark as a whole in 2050. Since 1980, Denmark has grown to become a global leader in the development of new sustainable technologies and solutions in the energy sector. During the same period, the Danish economy has grown by almost 80% without increasing gross energy consumption. The renewable energy sector has created a new job-rich industry in Denmark.
